Season 2? Hope so!

I loved it and I hope they come back for a second season, it looked like they have left it open to do so.

Me too! I think they left a lot of unanswered story lines that could be fleshed out

i just heard on my local news there is going to be a season 2. found a out a local man from st louis is in it as a wounding soldier who lost his feet. and they are actually not there. they had to be amputated cause he didn't have some bone near his ankle. also i never heard of this show so can anyone tell me what network is showing this?

2 things. 1) think i found what network is carrying it. i read the other 2 pages and saw someone said pbs.org. so is that correct?
2) why was there only 7 episodes? does pbs do this or they only made 7 episodes when they first started the series?

Yes, it is PBS (http://www.pbs.org/show/mercy-street/)

At least in my region, you need a PBS Passport membership, provided to those who donate at least $60 per year, in order to watch previously aired episodes.

I don't watch a lot of PBS shows, therefore, I'm not certain if this (miniseries-like) amount of episodes is typical for a first season of a series. I haven't seen anything revealed about the number of episodes for season two.

It has been filming for a few weeks already, and you can see some behind-the-scenes snapshots and clips via the writers and actors:
