This remind anybody else of the new HBO series helmed by the team behind "Boardwalk Empire"?

In essence, "Get Down" has a similar concept, except it takes the view from the roots of the music and the people behind it, while it looks like "Vinyl" is a mix of record exec perspectives as well.
Any thoughts on which one you'd prefer, or will you be checking out both??

definitely gonna check out both as they each portray a genres, as well as different perspectives of music + culture, as well as have really great teams/talent behind each one!!! :]

They both look absolutely fantastic! I'm pretty much a sucker for the 70's backdrop alone, the music is just another added bonus.

Are their musical numbers in Vinyl? According to a recent interview, The Get Down is more of a musical featuring a choreographed number in every episode.
