The show is amazing. The artistic feel and pacing makes you feel like you are watching a dj spin a story. It transitions on the beats for eCh scene and flows like a rap melody. It was hard not binge all 6 in one sitting because it felt like I left the song half way through. Great job, excellent viewing, a recommend to everyone who love music, likes artistic visions over gritty realness.

It's a nice fantasy show that's pretty well done. No show is "perfect". Not, "Breaking Bad", "Sopranos", "Mad Men", "Game of Thrones"...none of them. But, they're all a nice way to spend an hour.
People take this stuff way to seriously.
To the OP:
The show is actually pretty dark and gritty in parts, which it would have to be, since it's set in inner city New York of the late '70s. It's not one big fantasy---it deals with the harsh realities of living there in that era. So it's definitely not some cheesy, la la land type of show at all. Forgot to mention that I like how the titles of each episode are displayed as graffiti on a passing train and how the sumning up of everything that's been going on so far is done in a rap at the beginning of said episodes---nice artistic touch right there.
I agree, but being dark is not the opposite of artistic. I feel it is very dark like some songs are dark and well paced. I just feEl it felt like each episode was a song and each scene a well planned beat carrying the rhythm. Of course it's going to have critic issues...its not white people. You can see that with some.of the other posts here and their insulting titles. Still...who cares what others think. Baz has always been like Terry Gilliam...does what they like to build art and they couldn't give tow flying fs what others think.
