Maylene's mom and uncle

What is the deal with his character and Maylene's mom, I know there is a past but I'm wondering if it was before or during Maylene's dad's time in jail? Is Maylene really his daughter? Stranger things have happened...the scene at the dinner table was hilarious!

Unc is def Mys dad. 1960 reference, takes place in 1977. Think he almost said it in the office scene with mom.

We thought the same, we were watching that episode and the three of us (husband, daughter and me) said "Jimmy Smits is Mylene 's father". I thought that was gonna come up during the argument in episode 5, but no...

Sounds about right. He says something like "please don't take her away from me" in the office scene during the blackout. Seems like they're setting it up to be a reveal.

I was trying to figure this out too. Papa Fuerte said he's slept alone since 1960, which was when Mylene was born. I assume that means she is his. And he always refers to her as "our girl" when he talks to Lydia about her.

It's obvious, but meaningful to Papa Fuerte.

And it's great to see Jimmy Smits in this great role!
