Just started watching, and I like it so far. Just one question for those who lived in this era (sadly, I'm but a 90s baby).
In the poem Ezekiel recites to his teacher, he refers to his mother as "moms." Was this a popular slang term in the 1970s? Just curious, as I thought it came a bit later?

I remember some people using that term in the 80's and 90's. It probably did come from the 70's, maybe even before then.

I used to see her on TV a lot. I even saw her in a movie once with Butterfly McQueen.
