Ravi is a Criminal.

At least in New York City.

According to the New York City Health Code, section 161.01, it is forbidden to own or possess or shelter or house any animal in a long, long list.

10) Reptiles. The long, long, long, list of prohibited reptiles includes

any member of the family Varanidae, including the white throated monitor, Bosc's or African savannah monitor, Komodo monitor or dragon, Nile monitor, crocodile monitor, water monitor, Bornean earless monitor;

Mr./Mrs. Kipling is an Asian Water Monitor, Varanus salvator (not to be confused with the crocodile monitor Varanus salvadorii).

There was an episode when Mr./Mrs. Kipling was taken away from Ravi because he/she was brought into the country without a permit, but Ravi got him/her back. And in the second episode, "the Remarkable Mr. Kipling", Mrs.Chesterfield tried to get rid of Mr./Mrs. Kipling because he/she was against the rules of the tenant's association. But nobody mentioned in either episode that it was against the law in New York City to keep an Asian Water Monitor.

Of course Jessie and Bunk'd probably happen in an alternate universe where the New York City laws are different.

oh god you went that far going all the way to look up exact violation codes just to make Ravi look bad?

What do u have against Ravi?

That he's Indian (the actor)? I think he (the actor) was born in America, so how AMERICAN do u have to be?

And give Ravi a break! Mrs. Kipling is his ONLY friend! All his siblings torture him to get up the scale in the popularity ladder. The only friend he even got CLOSE to getting almost robbed him and his whole family!

Actually Ravi is my favorite Jessie and Bunk'd character. But that doesn't make him and his adoptive parents innocent of violating the local rules against exotic pets. And I originally looked up the NYC rules to comment that a character in a different show was breaking the law, and thought I might as well point out that Ravi was also breaking the law.

Well while we are on the subject of illegal stuff? The camp director should be thrown in jail for child labor. The way she treats the campers digusts me. Even if it is a kids show.

I completely agree with this. I understand the show is supposed to be a comedy and it's not meant to be taken seriously, but there are some things in Bunk'd that are just so ridiculously far-fetched that even if you have the biggest sense of humour in the universe you still can't suspend your disbelief at some of the things in this show. Aside from what you mentioned other examples include:

-The camp director, Gladys, her behaviour/personality is borderline psychotic and stalker-ish. There is no way in hell any sane person could ever think that leaving their child with this person is a good idea. This woman clearly needs professional help. How the hell did she get a job watching over kids?

-That bleach-blonde girl, Hazel I think her name is, another prime example of a character who is completely psychotic, stalker-ish, and obsessive. Why is this girl not locked up in an insane asylum? Not to mention that she actually tried to murder Emma in one of the early episodes. WTF?!?

-The entire camp is a death-trap. Not only are children unsupervised 99% of the time due to there never being any adults around, but one of the more recent episodes have shown that the camp gets its food from garbage dumpsters. The camp uses old and expired food that they just scrape off and give to the kids. There have also been numerous episodes where several characters have mentioned that there are rats and even worms in the camp food. Now, I'm not American, but don't they have health inspectors for camps in America? Also, how is it that nobody from this camp has died from food poisoning yet? Another thing, the camp director doesn't even know any of the kids' names or even how many kids there are. So if a child goes missing no one would even know. How has this camp not been closed down yet?

I'm all for a few laughs, but in no universe is any of the stuff that goes on in this camp OK. Like I said, some of the stuff in this show is just ridiculous. If the show does get renewed for a second season then I'm not even going to bother to continue to watch, because I find myself impossible to suspend my disbelief at many of the things in this show. Jessie was a WAY better show in every way.

You can always hope that Gladys gets arrested and hauled away in the last episode as the campers cheer.

The camp would be shut down due to the massive health violation codes they are breaking.
