This looks great after that really boring live adaptation nature show The Lion King.

By the look of the trailer it doesn't look like I will just be wishing I was watching the animated version instead. I'm looking forward to this one.

I hate how they somehow shoehorned an "evil queen/witch villain" in there.

Adding the "Evil" Witch is kind of genius and organic given the narrative of the adapted mythology of Mulan. The Phoenix in Chinese lore is Yin and Yang or duality and that duality is expressed in multiple ways (it seems) from the trailers.

I think Disney has done an excellent and hopefully respected decision, in staying close to ideas and even tropes familiar to Asian audiences. This film is NOT a remake of the Animated version of Mulan.
