Two hours of some half pissed fat bloke being driven around in a limo and occasionally giving a boring speech or ordering around his underlings.
At least movies about the Nazis are usually entertaining.
It is nothing like that. It is excellent, compelling, and engaging.

It was a good movie, but not a great one. About the only time I got enthused was when he was reciting the "We shall fight them on the beaches..." speech.
BTW, the subway scene is total fiction. It did not happen.

Yeah, the underground scene and Churchill's domestic scenes were a bit off, otherwise a good film.
shareThe trailer had some delicious eye-candy. If I'd known it'd been made by Joe Wright, I would've gone to see it in the theater.
Ah, well...
It's a damn good movie. Gripping, suspenseful, dramatic, occasionally very funny, and with a mesmerizing lead performance. Oldman deserved that Oscar, he keeps your eyes glued to the screen!
