I am really interested in the movie and I really hope that it is good but I don't want to watch it and be disappointed. So: Is it good?

I can say that it was FAR more deserving of Best Picture than The Shape of Water. How The Shape of Water won I will never know. Shape's production design was excellent, but narratively it was dull and lacked energy, and I didn't find it satisfying at all.
Darkest Hour on the other hand matched it in the production design department, but also provided a great and inspiring narrative. I just got done with it and found it to be an excellent film.
I've now seen all of the BP nominees from that year except for Call Me By Your Name and Phantom Thread, and the only film of the lot I'd put ahead of Darkest Hour would be Three Billboards.
Shape was stupid and disgusting. I have no idea how it won. I can only guess it's because the sexual predator pinheads in Hollyweird love bestiality.

Just saw it. Very good movie, imo.
