I'm Sensing a Pattern Here

"I know who the murderer is!"

"Yes, it's the one female the entire episode who came across as otherwise completely normal and unsuspicious, with no obvious connection whatsoever to the victim until the very end."

Is there any point anymore in watching this series? I mean, seriously, is it just going to be week in, week out of the same formulaic nonsense where the murderer not only turns out to be a woman, but the one who is purposely downplayed as being completely insignificant until the writers pull something out of thin air at the last minute?

The ratings are low, so the series will likely be shown and then never seen again..

you are missing the intent of the show. The intent is the line between superstition, trickery, and coincidence. So far they have done a good job of not actual proving either. That they give an explanation that still leaves room for belief shows writer creativity.

What does the intent of the show have to do with my complaint?

Intention of the show or not, each episode is based around a murder mystery that is supposed to be suspenseful, engaging, and have the audience guessing the entire time. So far, each and every episode has literally been the same murder mystery being told and resolved in the exact same way each and every time, with only minor details tweaked for variety. The show can have all the good intentions that it wants, but the formulaic episodes makes for boring television.

Are you really complaining, after only three flips of a coin, that the same side turned up?

Looking back at the three stories, having someone else as murderers would have been quite a reach, and truly diminish the transient characters.
