what with the British accents and the convoluted plot I am having problems making sense of the show. In particular tonight. How did Doyle survive the poisoning without the antidote? What was Dr. Ramsey's motive? What did the letter that Doyle find in the piano say? Who was the person in Bedlam that was helping Doyle?
How did Doyle survive the poisoning without the antidote?
Doyle figured out that euphoria would stop the spread of ergot throughout his body. So he imagined a conversation where his father acknowledged his talent.
What was Dr. Ramsey's motive?
Dr. Ramsey thought that if he inoculated patients with just a little bit of fear, they would become immune, curing them of their mental illnesses. Houdini made the analogy that the ergot was supposed to be like a rabies vaccine for fear.
What did the letter that Doyle find in the piano say?
It looked like it was a story Doyle had written that his father had kept as a keepsake, like he was proud of Doyle.
Who was the person in Bedlam that was helping Doyle?
Earlier in the episode, there was a patient who thought he was the real Sherlock Holmes. So when Doyle was hallucinating, he imagined that particular patient was helping him out, although Sherlock in this case was just Doyle's own subconscious. reply share
That was a picture of the house where Doyle grew up. Earlier in the episode, Doyle had a picture of the same house, only there was a child in the doorway, which I assumed was Doyle when he was a kid.
