Why does Hollywood keep insisting on Robin Hood or King Arthur movies?

Every five or ten years we get a new Robin Hood movie or King Arthur movie with different actors in an attempt to create a franchise. But these movies always go mostly unnoticed and don't do well in the box office. Why doesn't Hollywood realize that audiences are not interested in Robin Hood or King Arthur movies?

I disagree. I'd like to see more movies based off medieval legends such as Robin Hood, King Arthur, or going further, stories like Ivanhoe or Rob Roy again.

They're not interested in bad Robin Hood or King Arthur movies.
