I honestly can't believe movies like this get funding. It leaves so many unanswered questions that there's barely even a story.

Perhaps I missed it, but I personally didn't understand the point of her making the children do all that weird stuff (everything from destroying their parents things for dress-up/painting on the walls to the more disturbing bits). Was it just to show how unhinged she was? I can't imagine how it benefits her in her plan at all to make the older kids uncomfortable and distrustful of her.
