thoughts on the plot...

I know it's too early to judge, but it sounds like a boring and cliche premise for a movie. I feel like the idea of a parent having problems with their kid's significant other has been done too many times (e.g. Monster in Law, Meet the Parents/Fockers movies, etc). Hopefully it will be well written and there will be some sort of unique and unpredictable plot twist.

You're a dolt!

Yeah you might be right, but if you look at the project more optimistically you might find some hope for the project. If Bryan Cranston goes crazy in this movie like he did in Malcolm in the middle it might work.

Yeah, it looks sort of like a reverse Meet The Parents; instead of being perceived as a loser, the future son-in-law is wealthy. I am a huge Bryan Cranston fan, all the way back to MitM, but sometimes I really wonder about the movie choices he makes. Although he is most certainly going to receive his 5th acting Emmy for "All the Way".

You gotta admit Trumbo was a great movie and performance by Cranston. At least i thought so. Great choice if you ask me.

There's a tv show just like this called Cuckoo with Andy Samberg playing the most obnoxious human ever, now 2nd most (except he's not rich)

It's almost exactly like the show Cuckoo!

yes agreed. I hate the idea of "daddy's little girl." she's an adult, let her live her life.

Somehow the concept of “adulthood” has been erroneously linked to age.
If I’m not mistaken, isn’t Stephanie away at college, being financially supported by her parents?

Also, wasn’t it Laird’s idea to involve her parents in the relationship?

There's not much of a plot. It's a fun, mindless comedy. It entertained me enough, I'll give it a 7/10.
