Donuts
Did they just eat discarded donuts from a trash can at the park? Happily?
If the argument is they were untouched-- no, the donut box was open/donuts exposed... Again laying in a trash can.
In any event... Gross.

I came on here specifically to see if someone said anything about that. Gross indeed. Park trash cans are where people discard their dog's poop, dead bird carcasses and wild animals scavenge in them...not to mention just the grossness of what old food attracts (roaches, maggots, etc.). I know I am really laying it all out in unnecessary detail. But these were my thoughts as I watched it and I can't easily shake them from my head. Yuck! I guess the writers had to come up with a viable way for her to obtain donuts and show how everything worked out in the end. But I wish they would have thought of something else. Not a good example...Like you said, even if the argument is that they were untouched...there must be some reason someone threw away an entire box of donuts. People don't just purchase them to toss in the trash. Ewwww....I need to move on...just a tv show, I know...lol.
shareThe donuts bit in the park never struck me as odd or gross. I saw the episode again a few days ago. Here's what I remember: The donuts box was closed and on the ground next to the trash can. It had just been placed there by the crew that was tearing down the stage around Harley while she gave her speech for winning the inventor award. It wasn't there long enough to be contaminated, although I will concede the "yucch" factor in viewers' reactions.
Yeah, I know filankey is not a word, but it's gonna catch on.
I'm sort of with you, and I partially sense an attempt at gross-out humor there. I also get a sense that the family likes donuts so much, that they'll eat them anywhere they can get them.
Speaking of which, does anyone know who the girl doing the backflip in the "International Donut Fund" production title card is?
I suspect it's a stock photo, but I will look closely the next couple of times I watch the show. (I haven't had much chance to see more than three in their entirety; so now my backup plan: On Demand.)
(Speaking of Who Is The Girl, a scene in the DCOM Radio Rebel shows "Who Is Radio Rebel?" posters all over Seattle. I swear she looks a lot like a Seattle artist and photographer I know named Shannon Kringen, who for about 15 years hosted a local autobiographical public access cable show called Goddess Kring. It's a high-contrast image, but the pose and the facial expression look so much like her.)
Yeah, I know filankey is not a word, but it's gonna catch on.
You know I just discovered something after I posted this message:

Very cool!
The mystery is solved.
It also occurred to me that IDF is not the only "donuts" on Disney Channel. Liv & Maddie: Oops Doughnuts Productions.
I'm getting hungry.
