I didn't laugh once.
A shame this is what they replaced IDDI with.
"I guess it never hurts to 'shake it up'."

Disney seems to be taking a different direction after the unsuccessful Best Friends Whenever and Bunk'd--the return to single-camera shows.
They have:
-Stuck in the Middle
-Andiland(pilot)
*Bizaardvark is another upcoming series, though I can't tell if it's a multi-cam or single-cam series--wouldn't be surprised if it's the latter.
They're slowly starting to air more series produced out of U.S (although I think this is because they lost so many shows recently):
-Mako Mermaids (I have NO idea why they're even airing this. Is anyone watching?)
-Backstage
I agree with you about I Didn't Do It. They may have given the show itself a second chance, but they only gave the new writers one chance.
Funny you mention foreign shows: The first promo for Best Friends Whenever was so low-key I thought it was a Canadian show being brought south for a temporary run on DC.
I was slow to warm up to Best Friends Whenever. It's all right, but it feels like it goes through the motions. It's missing that elusive "spark" of energy that the stronger shows have.
I liked the second season of I Didn't Do It better. I never cared for the flashback format of season one. Delia was always my favorite character. Sarah Gilman gave her the proper balance of quirky and down to earth.
As for Stuck in the Middle, it has potential, but people need to watch more than the debut episode before they dismiss a show, as people in other threads on this message board seem to be doing. But being a single-camera show (and done well too) it already has caught my interest.
Yeah, I know filankey is not a word, but it's gonna catch on.
I loved IDDI's first season. Some of the best writing I had ever seen on Disney. Didn't care for the second season, but I watched every episode anyway for the Jogan plots. Was it unfairly canceled? Yes. Disney needs more shows, and they let this go for practically no good reason. However, with that being said, "Stuck in the Middle" deserves a chance. Everyone's complaining about how Disney isn't realistic, yet they get a realistic show and they want to complain still? I laughed some, but I think it was more of a drama and less of a comedy. Personally I don't care for the cheesy jokes or the laugh track on shows, and SITM doesn't have either of those. Not trying to be a troll or anything so sorry. Everyone has their own opinions, and I think that this show is amazing in my opinion. I miss Jessie like you guys miss IDDI, and I just think this deserves a chance because it has a lot more potential than other shows on this network and I want it to succeed.

Completely, this shoq is completely authentic and I love the old school disney vibe of it. Of course, it isn't perfect but if we're going to be honest, the premise is MUCH better than the pilot of Girl Meets World. Just in the first two episodes, you can feel the chemistry between the cast that, imo, wasn't there in the beginning of gmw. Now I have two shows I can relate to: Stuck in the Middle and Girl Meets World.
shareI laughed when the mud fell on the "perfect" annoying neighbor.
shareIMHO, I don't think it is meant to be funny. Yes, it draws its title and premise from the immensely hilarious Malcolm In The Middle, but think about Lizzie McGuire. Lizzie was never truly funny either, it was primarily intended to cater to tween girls. Besides a few unisex shows in between, Disney Channel has always been girl-centric.
Of course, as a guy who had barely started his teen years back when Lizzie came out, I mainly wanted to watch it (and almost every other Disney Channel show after it) because the girls were cute. So what do I know xD ?
