Is this show a spin-off of Law and Order; Special Victim's Unit? Set in NYC and increasingly focused on heinous child crimes:
1. Taylor (a little girl) was murdered and buried by Kurt's father
2. Jane and her brother were abused as children
3. Edgar and his friend Freddy were molested by a former coach

I'm thinking the writers of this show have some serious issues!

Most T.V shows try to bring in a story of childhood abuse. Why? Is it that common in the States?

It's just a cheap 'simple' way to get your audience to have sympathy for a character. In my opinion it's the sign of lazy writers.


