What if the mole... (Spoilers, sort of)

Doesn't know that he/she is a mole. Roman and Shepherd were talking about "activating" the mole, so maybe there isn't a traitor walking around, but they have something REALLY sensitive about one of them or a strong motive for forcing them doing something, but are waiting for the right time. I know this has been overused in the show, but it is a possibility. I have the feeling it has something to do with Allison or Kurt.

Is this real? Or has this been happening inside my head?

I like that! That's a good theory.

Sometimes fires don't go out when you're done playin' with them.

In the other episode when the Freddie guy said that Reed was also a victim/witnessed the abuse of the football coach.. how Reed reacted, it made me think that he is possibly the mole. maybe sandstorm did the memory thing with him as well that's why he has no recollection of that abuse? the mole's not activated yet so Reed's in sleeper mode.. but Reed will untimely "activate" himself when he digs deeper into that football abuse issue and starts remembering..

or maybe he just really managed to completely block out that abuse memory and made himself believe it didn't happen.. everybody has different trauma coping mechanisms anyway..

reply

Well, it is true that the mind is powerful and will protect the body by blocking memories. It happens all the time with trauma victims.
Pretty sure it happened to me.

Sleeper agent not mole. A sleeper agent is a deep cover, long term infiltrator who does nothing against the agency he or she has been planted in until given the coded command to do so.

In the book Telefon (also I movie I haven't seen) Russian sleeper agents have been planted in the US, who don't actually know they are agents because of drug induced hypnosis. When they hear "I have miles to go before I sleep" from a poem by Robert Frost and their real Russian names they carry out their preprogrammed tasks even though its been decades and their targets are no longer important. They can't help themselves.

There's another book I cant think of the title of which is the opposite, sleeper agents in Europe, also hypnotized are being activated as part of a plan put in place years ago, after Russia has invaded Europe. Ultimately hidden nuclear missiles all over Europe are armed and the Russians pull out rather than start a nuclear war.

That's a good one. That may be it.

For some reason I think it's Wellers ex, that is now saying she is pregnant.

You mean Allison, the character shown shot to death in the next episode? I don't think she is the mole. It has to be someone on the inside working day to day with Jane, such as Dr. Borden, Nas, or even Weller if we are to believe Nas's revelation of Sandstorm keeping tabs on him 20 years and not made up. Who knows, Borden and Nas could both be moles, working together or on different sides entirely.

reply

So NBC got to you did they? Allison is not going to be shot to death next ep. She clearly gets shot in the leg in the promo and the final shot in the trailer of Jane crying is from last season's ep when Mayfair died. Just cleaver NBC trailer work to mislead the audience.

reply

I stand corrected, niks_foonts. Not only does Allison live to see another episode, she'll help the team track down a mobster while hopping about on wounded limb.
