OMFG!! the stupid, tired Freddy storyline is STILL ongoing?!

for the most part i like Reade but his storylines since season 1 have been horrible and feel more like a bad soap opera. his friend Freddy's girlfriend showing up with her bag of BS/drama had me cringing AND rolling my eyes. then their horrifically bad little seduction scene at the end of the ep....WTF?!

why can't the writers cut out/cut down on the completely unnecessary melodramatic side stories (like Reade/Freddy/girlfriend. or Reade/Zapata romance(?). or Weller/Nas's unrealistic/unbelievable coupling. etc. etc.).

Such "side stories" usually mean nothing to me; but, here I see the barest flicker that could be foreshadowing a firestorm to come.

Reade helped a murderer elude capture...that's not "usually" a good deed that goes unpunished.

SOMEHOW I get the feeling that Reade's foray into Freddy's territory is going to be the match that turns that flicker into a flame.
