Travis, B.

Was extremely invested in knowing things about this upcoming project since the Laura Dern casting was confirmed. Even more into it now that Kristen Stewart has joined. Kelly Reichardt makes interesting films (see Wendy & Lucy for reference) I cannot wait to see what she does.

I was even more interested to see that it's apparently a series of vignettes based on short stories by Maile Meloy and after reading a little something about Kristen's character in the upcoming film I was reminded of the story Travis, B. Published in the New Yorker back in 2002.

It tells the story of a man Chet who befriends a lawyer turned teacher Beth, who is having doubts about committing to her job because of the long commute. It's very interesting and heartbreaking in a strange way I recommend reading it.

From what I read about the film its apparent Stewart's character befriends a female in this adaptation so I'm even more curious to see how Reichardt switches things up.

Anyways sorry for my ramble, here is a link to the story Travis, B.

Yes, I have read this also. Travis b.was indeed the ranch hand that had a certain way of walking, almost limping as if constantly looking back. I don't recall exactly MM's description of him but a loner who's only friends are horses. He happens to follow others into a school where he discovers this lawyer teaching a part-time class and becomes fascinated.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out with a female fascinated with the young lawyer.

Looking forward to this one !

Well, now we know. Lily Gladstone, playing the part of the male ranchhand, who is female in this adaption, is wonderful with Kristen Stewart. Praise for them all around!
Can't wait to see this amazing film!
