A Wild Ride of Sex and Violence! (Spoilers)

Ignore all those posts that call this movie slow and boring.

Kelly Reichardt typically makes slowly-paced contemplative films with stories that simply unfold without a lot of forced drama and phony action, but she changes her pace in this one. From the opening frantic lunch hour sex to the terrifying car crash at the end, Certain Women is a rollercoaster ride of police standoffs, hostage negotiations, armed gunmen, car chases, booze & cigarettes, snarling teenagers, senior head-cracking, bone-breaking horses, blood-thirsty dogs, and lesbian lust, underscored with blaring guitar music and topped off with a sizzling strip tease by Michelle Williams.

I knew I should have waited for the DVD with these deleted scenes. All I saw was a gentle, naval-gazing depiction of ordinary life. Ah well, another couple of hours of my life I will never get back.

Maybe I exaggerated a bit, but every thing I mentioned was in the movie.
If you're used to being force-fed and hammered over the head with plot details, you might have missed them.
