Is the abuse that Kim Basinger suffers at the end indicative that she's an actress who will do anything for a paycheck

Regardless of how humiliating and degrading it may be?

YES...... ABSOLUTELY!!! I believe that the movie studio BEGGED for her to be in this movie purely for "star power"~ because if part 2 had ZERO star power and more no name actors, then that pretty much guarantees part 3 (trilogy) a "direct to home video" DVD, w/a different male + female lead due to budgetary concerns........ (see Alien vs. Predator- reqeium)!!!

I always thought that they wanted Kim Basinger because one of her biggest roles was in 9 1/2 Weeks, which was essentially, the '80s version of Fifty Shades of Grey. The producers must've felt that it would've made for a nice case of "meta-casting". Plus, with all due respect, Basinger pretty much lost much of Hollywood's confidence with the Boxing Helena lawsuit back in the '90s. She didn't get a lot of substantial work for the rest of the decade and although she did win an Oscar for LA Confidential, she didn't appear in another movie for another three years. Simply put, appearing in a Fifty Shades sequel was likely going to be the biggest paycheck that Kim Basinger was going to be offered in quite some time.
