Glad to see you posted that there is going to be a Christian perspective in FSD, too. I've fallen way behind in the "news."
I don't come here often, but months ago folks were asking if she'd have time to do the next two books in his perspective and it wasn't sounding good with all the work to do on two films, even though she's not (technically) writing them.
I honestly liked the Christian perspective on FSG a lot better in many ways than the original from Anna's view. (Okay even if all that goddess dialogue had been edited out think I'd still have liked Christian's viewpoint better). He was just a more complex guy to visit and spend time with than Anna in her formative moments.
Anna's fine as a character. But C has a great deal more going on in his head, his psyche and his life as a mogul.
It was a really good book! And rather than guessing what drove Christian, it was nice to see he had the same insecurities that other folks do--that he wasn't always as cool and collected as he appeared to be in FSG. He had a lot of interesting foibles beyond his penchant as a Dominant.
The scenes of him as a little boy broke my heart and I actually cried!
So, really would look forward to continue "his" story from his perspective. Especially, during some of the bits where he has to change a A LOT to try to adapt to his new lifestyle.
I enjoy Christian's POV. Anna's telling of the story got old. Her inner goddess got old real fast. I don't care how she stretched, and did yoga....So tired of hearing how her inner goddess "woke" up.
She wanted Christian...he wanted her. From there...the story was hot.
Yes!
It was fun watching inside Christian's head as he tried to write the note to her and went through several drafts, ha.
Things like that became endearing--whereas, in FSOG from Ana's point of view, Christian's behaviors took a real back seat to his internal life, because of all the participation in S&M that was controversial in terms of women, etc.
No matter what, all the controversial conversations about Christian just centered on and on about his being rich "so that's all women want" blah blah blah and him beating women.
People just couldn't get past those two basic things about him and see the person underneath. Seeing him internally in "Grey" allowed readers to see that maybe Ana saw something more inside him and was drawn--in FSOG. Perhaps it explained why she took a gamble on him--instinct that there was a great deal inside him that was vulnerable and dear.
But the new books can give a lot of insight and get us off the two-dimensional controversies relating to him hitting women--consentually, but critics still hate him for that.
SO much happens in FSD with regard to Jack, Elena, and all the fun stuff like Christian coming into the bar to stake his claim on Ana in front of Jack.
I'm really looking forward to hearing what goes through Christian's mind in all of those really key plot turns and events.
Especially the proposal scene! That's going to be some internal dialogue!

I totally agree. Every time she does something he doesn't expect or understand he gets flustered. And the graduation speech- if you didn't read Grey, there's no way anyone could have understood the significance of that speech on Ana.
