Dakota thinks Anastasia is a badass

in her perspective Anastasia might be a badass character but i suggest her to read more books to learn what a badass character means. because to me, Anastasia is far away from that kind of description. she was just an insecure girl who did what her "boyfriend" told her to do in order to keep his attention. just because she sometimes couldn't handle the abuse and reacted like how a normal person should feel, doesn't make her badass.

I do appreciate Dakota being sex-positive about the story but Ana's no badass.

I think we see more of her "bad assery" in Darker and Freed...how she handles Jack and other things..

reply

I disagree.

Badass is Princess Leia
Katniss Everdeen
Majority of the women from Game of Thrones.
Orphan Black

Ana is no where near a badass.

Jyn Erso Rogue One, currently killing it at the Box Office!
Any role that Viola Davis plays(that includes Suicide Squad)
The Bride in Kill Bill!
Jessica Chastain in Miss Sloane!
Robin Wright in House of Cards!
Jessica Jones!
Veronica Mars!

Ana would the type the badass woman is trying to help or make her see sense!

Isundling....totally agreed. In the context of THIS story, Ana does become a bad ass, no doubt about it! She began to stand up for herself and in turn became a badass.

Is that before or after Grey is so furious at her for living a little and sunbathing topless that he gives her hickeys so that she has to cover up during their honeymoon because he owns her naked body!

reply

Didi2013...so true...same with Freed..and she handles Christian better too...stands up for herself and yet, tries to help him see her side...but that is just part of learning each others ways..they had only know each other for a month, and that was sporadic.moving in and living with someone..that takes time.

Yeah, like a badass! Let's see you do that, Wonder Woman!

Do you think Anastasia is afraid of Christian?

Kind of yes, definitely intimidated! She seems to have to walk on eggshells around him!

reply

There is a scene in Darker that bothers her a lot...but afraid?..I don't think so..she tells him no more whips or belts, so maybe she is still unsettled about that, but Christian has no plans for the Red Room.they still have some kinky sex, but he likes it in their bedroom.

reply

The relationship between him and his subs and Mrs. Robinson scares her in Darker!

The in Freed, he bans her from showing her body, demands she change her last name, is angry at her for disobeying his orders (even though if she did she be dead) and punishes her with BDSM so mush she has to give the password, to name a few!

demands she change her last name

They marry in this one, do they not? I'm not being flip or rhetorical here; I haven't read the book and am sincerely unaware.

This is 2017, is it not?
She actually, shocker still goes to work too, (that Grey keeps trying to make her quit)

From Freed first day back at work for the two, he sends her a text saying why are his emails, bouncing back, have you not changed your name to Grey, Ana mentions she wants to keep her own name for work, fast forward a few mins and Grey is outside her door, wants to talk about rebranding, cue Grey convincing Ana to change her by manipulation and nepotism, he bought the company for her and intends to call it Grey Publishing!

So yeah, i stand by this comment,
demands she change her last name

The story should have ended with the first book where the ending is somewhat real. He should have gone straight into 7-day 1-hour therapy sessions to start the new book for it to even be remotely authentic. Purity does not complete men, fix them, or make them well or whole same like penises don't fulfill women. The story is total FANTASY.

You don't like see the truth, do you?
BTW that "Was Ana scared of Grey?" question was for me!

reply

This makes me howl. Ana is a sap of the highest order.

A badass is Daenarys Targaryen. Katniss Everdeen. Buffy Summers.

Anastasia is a badass? In what way? If you look up the definition of badass, verbatim it states "a tough, uncompromising, or intimidating person." Anastasia is none of these. Very poor choice of word but can you blame her? You can't bash the thankless character you're portraying. Dakota is irrelevant up until the FS franchise comes along which is why I'm so disappointed in Vogue to choose her for the February issue. I would have loved to see an actress like Viola Davis, Jessica Chastain or any other talented actress receiving a lot of praise from critically acclaimed films right now.

reply

Good for her then.

Whatever you are, be a good one.

reply

Dakota don't know jack about badasses. And for certain, her character is NOT one.
