Hugh Dancy's scenes cut from 'Fifty Shades Darker'

According to Observer, though Dancy did film scenes for Fifty Shades Darker, he would not be appearing in the movie.

(…)One such movie might just be Fifty Shades Darker, the next film in the Fifty Shades trilogy. Although it was widely reported last April that Dancy would be playing the role of Christian Grey’s psychiatrist, Dr. John Flynn (does everyone in that movie have a name that sounds like a porn star?), Dancy assured me that he would not, in fact, be appearing in the film. “I guess,” he said, grinning, “I’m a living contradiction of the internet.”

Too bad. I'm a fan of Mr. Dancy.

What, I thought I saw a pic (from trailer) w/Hugh Dancy standing next to Mia & the Ana's BFF....it was a "zoomed" pic from the trailer. It sure looked like Hugh Dancy.
That is so wrong (if he is not in this movie). Important scene w/Dr Flynn, @ the masquerade ball...when Ana is being auctioned off...unless that particular scene will not be in Darker. If that is the case...that is really too bad.

Interesting, if true.

Guess films do streamline things a lot. Perhaps they've changed it from having him appear to simply having Christian reference him so that Ana is aware he gets professional help.

His reaching out and having Dr. Flynn in his life did seem important in various ways to the plot.

I always liked the scene in which Ana was able to meet with Dr. Flynn alone and Christian was freaking out and wouldn't stay out of the room long enough to let them have a quality conversation. :-))
