All of the above...and the proposal..looking at the house on the coast...the sail boat...as it was not a catamaran in the trailer..Christian's birthday party..
Agreed....same exact list I have....plus.... The scene in the alley after Jose's photo exhibit...that is going to be spectacular to watch, also. There are the "key" scenes and I sincerely hope they r in the movie!!!
I got a kick out of the scene in the bar on the Friday night when Jack weasels and eels up to Ana in her personal space (thinking he's gonna be in like Flynn not knowing anything about Christian); then all of a sudden his competition Christian appears out of the ether, drapes his arm over her shoulder with the subtlety of a Mack truck, making it perfectly clear Ana's taken. It could be a fun scene to see Jack gobsmacked and knocked back.
Also, I always liked the scene of a smiliar nature in the book in which totally clueless Mrs. Robinson shows up at Christian's flat mid-week only to be shocked when she finds Ana there. Christian simply says, "girlfriend" shocking her when she realizes Ana is not his latest sub for weekends, but a really significant relationship. Could be a good scene to film.
Oh and last but not least---the righteous beat down our normally mild-mannered Taylor gives Jack. Oh please. ha (I liked it because it was the one time Taylor really showed how much he cared about Christian and Ana and it was not just a job.)
....totally, doesn't Ana say something to her along the lines of...."if it were up to me I would toss you into the seven rings of hell"....or something like that...then moments later Christian opens the door & begins to totally eviscerate Elena...my God, epic, totally epic!!!
Her lack of appearance was a huge chasm in the first film.
She's very important and being missing from the first film created a problem for unfamiliar viewers to understand Christian's life. He had Mrs. Jones and Taylor in the house--a kind of pseudo "family" he'd created for himself at home.
Even though he had a nice family already, this dynamic with two very nice people in the penthouse with him seemed important to kind of humanize Christian for new readers and viewers. The lone abuser profile isolated in his Penthouse leant a potential creepiness into his character that was not in the books with Taylor and Mrs. Jones always living there and looking after him.
But with Mrs. Jones entirely missing, something was lost in seeing the complete Christian. Her interactions with Ana ar also important. And Taylor was around in the flat in the first film, but you might be left with the impression he was simply at work there and not living in his wing.
And on that note: I want to see Taylor and Mrs. Jones kissing like Ana did.
I see Masterson is 5 years or so younger than Martini in real life. The "older woman" thing between Mrs. Jones and Taylor was kind of a fun dynamic and it was commented upon at some point. Wonder if they will portray her as older?
At one point he and Ana have a confrontation and he thinks he is going to lose her. He panics and all of a sudden in the middle of the living room, he drops to his knees and completely takes a submissive pose--like the one he wants Ana (and other subs) to do as they sit on the floor inside the door before the sex session begins in the Play Room. He just becomes an entirely different person before Ana's eyes.
Ana is shocked as she realizes he's instantaneously turned submissive and quiet as some kind of desperate go-to response Christian has undertaken in a moment of despair. It's like he's out of options to keep her, and just goes to what he knows--and he knows from his past with Elena how to become submissive. So, he just drops to the floor in the middle of the living room at the penthouse, presumably to give himself over to her in some way and give up control.
Thank you. I thought I'd remembered it that way. In Ana's head I think she also found it unsettling and rather heartbreaking that he'd go into sub mode like that in front of her that way, as his last resort kind of route, and it touched her.
It seemed an interesting psychological scene, too, for CG. His sub days were many years in the past, yet he could click into it that way physically when a crisis hit him. Just like when he was willing to sub for Elena when he was at his lowest as a teen, even though he was terrified of being touched--his desperation was so great he ended up subbing for Mrs. R back then. He even admitte to Ana later that Mrs. R was allowed to touch him, even though he was telling Ana at the time he was afraid to be restrained by Ana even after being married.
It's a kind of complex thing, his world where being a sub is concerned.
But in that scene it was like sub mode is his desperation mode.
Although I don't recall her exact inner dialogue on it.
If you, meaning all posters, think it's submissive to show sensitivity and need to a female, then this movie has nothing to do with role-play fantasy, it's a film about a troubled person looking for love to solve his issues. Oh, he doesn't know how to be vulnerable in a "normal" way, he has to kneel down? Okay, I guess. But not creative or interesting, which I assume is the intention.
