Scipt and/or directing - what did they think they did????

I saw it today in a "ladies night preview" (opens here tomorrow).

I am so disappointed and don't understand, what they did with the story....

Just one scene after another with no sense, no storytelling, things happen in a minute and in the next they are forgotten...

Especially when Christian was kneeling in front of Ana and fell in the role of a sub because he thought he was frightened she'd leave him again - they really messed this scene up! No explanation, no reassuring of Ana that she never will leave (which is so important for what will happen later - so i's just an absolute senseless scene....

Maybe they should stop E.L. James' husband writing the scripts - obviously he can't do it.

And I don't know the director, but as far as I know he is responsible for the cutting and this is also so bad....

Just hope they can save part three....

I'm trying to be more open about the second one. But I'm hearing bad reviews left to right about darker. Did you think FSoG was a better film than FSD?

reply

The FIRST one was getting bad reviews from left and right so what would've been different? Hell, Twilight films was the same way with bad reviews from left and right, but that didn't stop teens and women from seeing it.

It is interesting, though, if during the sub scene she doesn't assure him she will NEVER ever leave him.

As the OP said, that figures in importantly later (especially in FSD if I recall).

Though, if they put her promise to him in a scene some other way, that might work. But she had to promise when he was most vulnerable right? It works better there.

But guess hubby had different ideas than EL.

Well, for worse case scenario, if the women leave the theaters disappointed and let down, all they need to do is turn this bad boy on when they get home and the rest is history. Take notes men, take notes. This is everything.

Gets. Me. Every. Time.
