I LOVE a good erotic thriller, but this looks boring

Basic Instinct, The Last Seduction, and Unfaitful are so really hot and entertaining films. I wish these 50 Shades films were interesting enough to compete with the likes those I mentioned, but it just sounds and looks like such a trite and boring premise. In fact, it doesn't look like enough of a premise for one film, let alone three. A girlfriend explained to me what happens and I wash shocked (not by the sex) that it was basically just another consumerist fantasy of excess materialism. How generic is that? And money is not sexy. High stakes are sexy. Risk is sexy. Palpable chemistry between any multiple number of physically attractive people is sexy. I mean, the two leads def aren't hideous by any means, but they're both rather bland and unspectacular. That lead actress is definitely NOT her mother. Melanie was a sex kitten with that slinky body language and naughty voice. And just because the lead actor has visible abs (it's Hollywood, who doesn't?)

I'll stick with my oldies.
