I was just on Instagram and found a short video someone took at the very beginning of the movie (before the credits). It shown back and forth of Christian as a little boy hiding and his mother's pimp finding him as he twitches and moves around while he's asleep in bed. I was wondering if they would show flashbacks and although the volume didn't work on the video it was still heartbreaking.

shareIt's only a couple but they're very heartbreaking and using one of those flashbacks was a very surprising way to begin the movie.

Neither of those segues into that. (Not a negative, just interesting, given the monster cliffhanger in FSOG for non-book readers.)
Yup there are two flashback scenes
1. the beginning scene with Christian's mom pimp finding him just to hit him.
2. Christian tells Ana when he stayed with the corpse for three days until they found her and when Grace noticed him at the hospital
