Not surprisingly, FSD grabs top spot for Thursday night showings.

This is not surprising, but still sad, nevertheless, but FSD comes out on top among John Wick 2 and Lego Batman.

I was explaining to a user who thought this was like the winning race of movies, but it's still early. Remember, FSD raked in dough because of the late showings. No parent will bring a child to see a midnight movie on a school night. Kid movies usually start earning the big bucks starting Friday throughout the weekend. I think these articles want to justify huge winnings for a film that is being completely demolished by critics.

I don't think anyone, outside of those profiting off the success of this franchise, want to see it do well. I agree, it's still early to determine who'll come out on top, so we'll have to wait and see. I always thought it will do around 60 million on opening weekend. What do you think it'll do?

Considering that family-oriented films are extremely successful, I'm thinking it's going to take in $70 million this weekend. But I'm being optimistic here and I'm going off from the surprise, successful outcome from The Lego Movie (2014). It had lower expectations from what it broke at the theaters.

Lol, second weekend will flop so badly, the film will be removed from the cinemas lmao

This is strictly a date night film. Lego batman is going to destroy the box office this weekend. The last thing anyone wants to go up against is a family film on opening weekend. Especially a family film in the lego franchise. 50 shades darker won't even have legs. They'll pull it from the theater like they did the first one. Those films are better suited for VOD release.
