Overall, this installment is the 4th biggest opening ever for an R-rated film, behind the first offering, Deadpool and The Matrix Revolutions. The film is dominating with No. 1 openings in most territories and 50% market share across the current releases.
With new openings Friday in the UK and Ireland, it’s No. 1 there with $4M so far and already marks the 2nd biggest opening of an R-rated film, only behind its predecessor Fifty Shades of Grey. Also, it just opened in Spain to No. 1 and $1.8M after its first day in release in the market to see the 22nd best opening day ever for a film rated +18.
