The sailboat scene, off the coast of Vancouver...

That sailboat scene, off the coast of Vancouver, is the single most beautifully filmed scene in the entire movie. The mountainous backdrop against the blue sky and waters, and towering evergreens, was simply perfect. Sailboats are my most favorite, and that area--damn, it was stunning.

It made me once again question, "Why aren't I living there?".

Did it bother you that it was a sailboat rather than a catamaran?...not me, I loved the look of the sailboat...wished they would have had their sex scenes...and a trip to look at the house...and eat chowder at the fish shack..oh well...I needed an 8 hour movie.

To be honest, I can't remember what boat he had in the books. But no, I absolutely love sailboats. I love being on them, in fact, I could probably live on one for part of the year. But that scenery-wow! WOW! So pretty. Moving to the Northwest corner of Washington state is most definitely a new life goal.

Eight hours? Oh brother. Don't hate me when I say this, but I got somewhat bored here and there within that two hours. Concerning the sex scenes, I thought that bar was hot. I love how he flipped her over, but hell, I really loved how he flipped her over in FSOG, too. But, I like a guy who takes control like that. Other than that, oh, and against the wall sex is always a favorite of mine, so that was lovely.

Other than that, I wouldn't have minded if they cut the sex by five minutes and put that time into real reactions to the mini-climaxes  not a pun alert set up throughout the movie. More of Jack Hyde being the big dick he was, would've been nice. Christian on his knees and in a trance, with Ana freaking out, trying to bring him back, would've given a bigger punch to him letting her finally touch his chest. Two extra minutes--that's all that scene needed to make it more interesting. Grace looking stunned, and at least asking 'what?' or 'when?', before she decked Elena would've been more satisfying.

But yeah, long story short, I loved the sailboat ;-) See? Bad transition, which this movie had a lot of.

Edit to add: Ok, I just looked again. The scene when Christian hits his knees is at 1:14:00. Ten seconds later he looks at her. Ana does her little monologue, and when he brings her hand to his chest, the time stamp was 1:15:38. That whole scene was only a minute and thirty-eight seconds long. That was one of the most pivotal scenes in the book, wasn't it? Where everything changes again? My personal feeling is that it was too short, and if I never read the book, I wouldn't know what was going on nor care.
