Just saw this rate it 8/10 like first, but disappointed compared to book

Obviously a lot gets cut, I expect that. I think what was disappointing was this was slightly shorter than the first movie yet they seemed to go through the supporting cast parts so fast, hard to get enough impact from them. The main thing though was Christians break-through scenes. The part where he is on his knees submissive to Ana was written so powerfully in the book and the movie seemed to rush though it and it was hard to get that impact of exactly what he was doing. Also the part where he finally lets her touch him he doesn't wince or really convey just how tough that is to break down that last barrier. I just wish they would have put a bit more finesse on some of the scenes. You know how fans complain about lack of nudity, well they returned that with what seemed like even less nudity, especially male. The movie is about wanting that rich powerful guy and they still be just usting sneak up ass shots, where he pops in nude and it's over before you process what you just saw. All those rumors of him going frontal or his brother going frontal, haha, big lies. While I got into the progression of the relationship, just like most book movies, you feel just enough was cut out and cut down to make you feel disappointed and pretty much expecting the exact same for the third book. Since they already filmed it, they aren't gonna listen or care if we beg them to really push some envelopes. I guess after reading a book, clamping on a few toys doesn't really do much for me. If they had showed him frontal nude, then I'd be having a wow factor. Where's the wow movie producers?

reply

You're giving this 8/10 because it tickles your jollies...

I wonder if you possess enough functional grey matter in your frontal cortex to comprehend the undeniable fact that your standards are below those even for stereotypical perverts.

At least they demand a 'money shot'.

Everyone has their likes and dislikes. I hated the first movie so I have desire to see this, but people out there like it. I hate Sucide Squad yet people defend that everyday.

reply

Honestly, anyone that defends suicide squad to you is just an utter moron, i mean to each their own but... what a *beep* utterly terriblly written movie slapped together in editing in any sequence most the money spent on 90s songs for nostalgia and trying to cash in on the fame of the likes of guardians and deadpool but failing miserably, i mean i love comics, love the suicide squad, but even I know a 1 out of 10 movie when i see one.

These books were written worse than high school essays I've read. "Powerful"? Give me a break. I like to read mindless junk, but this PO$ couldn't keep me interested past the first page.

Read a real book by a decent author. One that has had actual sex in the last 15 years.

reply

You bunch of losers is exactly why the boards are being deleted. You attack other people. Stop bullying me and go F yourself

reply

It's called free speech, not bullying. If you can't handle the fact that you're in the minority of people who liked the books/film then that's your problem.

reply

Get off my post all you haters. Stop bullying me. Stop calling me names. Free speech my ass. If you want to comment on the movie or book That's what my post is about. Clearly you can't read or don't understand harassment but clearly people are now stepping over the line and using hate speech. Very pathetic. Attacking people is sad, childish, and pathetic

reply

'Hate speech' stop trolling, we're allowed to think your opinion is crap

reply

There is the ignore feature, use it. If you are just some semi-literate fool who thinks this is an accurate depiction of S&M (it's not), people are going to make fun of you.

You are an adult and want to get your jollies? Read literate erotica and watch porn. I'm a woman, and you little girls that gush over this stupid movie/cruddy fan-fiction book make me sick. It's fake, unrealistic, and SO badly written I was more interested in the background than the sex scene when I passed by the first movie on cable.

But then again, I don't need some badly written imaginary story to tell me what sex is all about.

reply

Do you have a vagina instead of a penis? Get the *beep* off of the internet if you can't handle trolls, and people being mean to you. Or be a man and stop whining. The movie is crap, I've only seen the trailer and i wanted to gauge my eyes out. It appeals to 40yo house mommies who can't get dick, and obviously to you.

reply

The sad part is you are ok with tjat behavior and you want to bash the movie and waste your time combing the boards. Now I see why fans stopped coming here. Nothing but haters are left.

reply

"That" behavior.

Actually, I just really dislike stupid people. Anyone who thinks these books are anything less than epic trash, totally unrealistic, and don't depict real relationships/sex belongs in the category of stupid.

I have no problem with romance novels, porn, or S and M.

Saw both, rated each at five stars. Average movies, but big crowds due to all the tie-in promotions driven by the chance of free this or that, plus the fun of partying with others.

reply

Hi andyhain, from what I've heard it's mediocre fare like the first one, but it's doing great box office business. I think it will rake in a ton at the box office this weekend.

reply

They had a contest both and reserved row for winners so I know what you're talking about. Also saw a few friends group there to laugh and have fun

reply

I also put a 8/10 rating. I won't comment in relation to the books since I think that they are so poorly written, I did like the movie for what it is ...a guilty pleasure. I did find it to be much better than the first one , especially regarding the chemistry between Jamie and Dakota that was so much better than the original. I wish they had developed a better ending plot .

reply

You mean for this movie or for the book/story in general?

reply

You mean the ending? If it is, I thought that they could have done a better job with establishing a proper set up for revenge in the movie. Like nobody questioned the helicopter accident , no doudbt was brought up, it was forgotten right away. It needed a more complex story . It is too bad because , as if more care had been govern to the script , it could have been a much better movie. But like I said earlier , they did a good job on the relashionship level this time around , so I was not disappointed at all.

Supernatural23 I am sorry that you are being trolled but its true that everyone has a right to say what they want. The beautiful thing about the internet though is that it also makes trolls a bunch of bitch ass punks because they would never dare say anything in front of anyone's face.
That being said...

I thought the movie was okay. I am a fan of old erotica films like 9 1/2 weeks and wild orchid etc. Compared to what I remember from the books I did notice that they toned down a lot . On top of that it seem as if Dakota Johnson was not as good in this movie compared to the first. Her chemistry with Jamie Dornan was off and at best distant. Jamie Dornan accent came through a lot. I almost though christen became Irish LOL. It also messed with me that the sex scenes was never equal. Jamie was only nude once while Dakota was always nude which goes to show you that Hollywoods lack of male nudity or I guess "gender equality " in films is a very real thing.

So Supernatural23 if you want to read better written erotica /romance novels read Sylvia Day's Crossfire Series. Its very hot and well written for the most part. She also wrote Afterburn and After Shock which are good. Anything by Christina Lauren is Okay too. If you want something older read anything by Anais Nin but be warned her writings are on the taboo side .
