How did this make more money than John Wick Part 2?
This is hard to believe!
shareAlmost double. And Lego Batman made even more. Bet all the critics who said don't see this movie are wondering "WHAT?"
shareBecause the books sold over 100 million copies...that is a lot of fans world wide.
shareWell, the unofficial box office has topped $146 million worldwide, according to some news releases.
Wow. (If accurate.)
It's interesting to note differences in openings between Lego, Wick and Fifty. But not sure it's important in the grand scheme--with it being horses for courses.
But all in all, an impressive start it seems. Can't imagine they'd mind coming in third when third tallies to almost $150M.
And with large population areas of the US dealing with major weather events that could dent film viewing in theatres.
Between digging out of snow and dams threatening to break with evacuations....gessh!
It's $148.3 million worldwide now according to Box Office Mojo (official).
shareDon't be dis-hearted, John Wick 2 actually was the real winner because it did better than its predecessor, unlike Lego and Fifty plus it was shown in less theatres than the the two!
The headlines will inevitably be about “Fifty Shades Darker” and “The Lego Batman Movie,” but the “John Wick” installment’s numbers are more impressive.
