Forbes also has a new article entitled "Box Office: Fifty Shades Darker Spanks Lego Batman and John Wick" but I can't link to it because of my adblocker.
Don't tell me you love animals if that's cow muscle on your plate.
Opening weekend has the word "weekend" in it for a reason. Lego Batman beat out this ridiculous movie by nearly 7 million. It's the opening weekend that decides which movie won, with minor exceptions being holidays that fall on Monday, and cause the majority of businesses to be closed. No one closes for Valentine's Day.
Of course more people saw Fifty Shades Darker than Lego Batman on Valentine's Day. Countless guys were forced to endure this as part of their wive's/girlfriend's Valentine's Day gift (because it's all about the women, while guys just get left with lighter wallets) and with Monday being a school night, I seriously doubt many parents brought their kids to see Lego Batman. This article is pointless. It must have been a slow news day.
Why is there always a my movie beat out your movie mentality on this site anyway? Who cares, unless you were a producer and benefited both financially and career-wise. Five more days, and these pointless threads will go the way of Blockbuster and MySpace.
