Anybody just not care about John Wick?

I generally enjoyed the movie and the action was great. But I have little reason to root for Wick. The guy doesn't have much of a personality. If they kill him, I wouldn't care.

Heck, I found Cassian to be more interesting and started rooting for him after a while.

John Wick is fine and it's easy root for him. A brooding master assassin still mourning his wife, trying to to escape the life but it keeps pulling him back in. Given what he has long wanted I was puzzled by his decision at the end of the movie.
