I also just realized this as I watched the last episode and was surprised at how long it took me to notice. I guess she wasn't that integral to the show that it took us this long to realize she was gone. I honestly can't remember when we last saw her, but it seems like it hasn't been this season.
On the other hand, the youngest daughter is one of the most exceptional child actors I've seen in a long time.

I reckon they saw the audience´ love for the little one and just cut the other or they did go with a more realist approach and did not let her attend. WHich teen girl would go to a childs birthday.
