Why was Greg's Teeth busted in this episode?

In season 1: episode 10, during the Pong segment, It is explained that Greg broke his tooth the night before Jen and Greg's wedding in a table tennis match with Matt. This happens while Colleen is looking at their wedding album and asks what happened to Greg's tooth in the photo. This sets up the conclusion of that match in which Greg breaks his tooth again.

I'm really impressed with them on this one. A lot of shows have small plot holes with stuff like that. But show is great with that. The writers are amazing.
