First Thoughts

Watching the movie on Netflix, "Under the Shadow", it is a horror movie but with a uniquely important perspective, namely, women in the middle east. Women who want the simple right to be a mother and get an education... something we take for granted.

"As a mother and daughter struggle to cope with the terrors of the post-revolution, war-torn Tehran of the 1980s, a mysterious evil begins to haunt their home."

The film is reminiscent of The Babadook and The Others.

That which pursues a path of empathy, is never wasted... even under the guise of light entertainment. Afterall, are not the best horror films also metaphors which help us cope and heal?

Note: It is highly rated on both IMDb and Netflix.
