shareI'm guessing you didn't actually personally raise the flag on Iwo Jima.
It cost $1.5Million and made $3Mil over the weekend. Producers got their money back.
Well if the producers made their money back that's all that matters.

I guess the theaters are showing this movie for free and not getting a cut. I also guess that marketing this movie was also completely free. /s
That's not how box office works. They only get to keep maximum 30-40 percent of the gross.
I'm getting tired of how overused the word "flop" is (especially in thread titles) on here. A lot of the time, said movie isn't even a "flop", but even if it is, why do people relish so much in the idea that a movie might not be doing so well in the theatres?
shareBecause they are losers with nothing better to look forward to in life.
And BTW, it's not a flop!
No its a huge hit. as successful as Obamacare

Apparently if it's not $100 mil + than its a flop.
shareMovie made $3 million in one weekend and cost $1.5. Next weekend it is EXPANDING the number of theaters it's in due to such good reviews and word of mouth. Between TV sales, home vid, streaming, and international, this movie is a clear financial success. You could think Obama is Hitler and Trump is Jesus and still deal with the fundamental realities of movie math. It's a money maker, how much it ends up making we'll know in time, but to call a movie with a $1.5 million budget a FLOP after making $3 million on weekend #1 is astounding idiocy. Like, we're talking retardation levels here.
How many Sundance movies end up making more than a million dollars their entire theatrical run? Barely any. How many sub-2 million dollar movies ever play nationwide on 800+ screens? Hardly any. No one was ever expecting a walk-and-talk romance with two unknown black leads to make tens of millions opening weekend. Hate on the movie all you want, but when talking financials, check your politics at the door.
EXPANDING????? yea the audience really loved this turd that's why their rating is at 58%, this movie is in for a 50% drop if not more next week , nobody wanted this garbage in the first place, all of obama's muslim family and isis saw it this week nobody to watch it next week
