They showed the first episode of Season 2--Night of Crowns--for a fee. Are the rest a year away or is there some kind of predictable lag between the TV episode and Amazon?

Not sure about that, but all episodes are available on HBO (at least HBO Nordic)
shareI don't know where you're located, but in the US it's pretty standard for Amazon to release a TV season on Prime just a few weeks before the new season premiers. That is to say, this Season 2 won't be on Amazon Prime until shortly before Season 3 airs. Until then you have to buy the season, or find other methods.
shareI'm not sure if there's usually any overlap with netflix and amazon but since season 1 is on Netflix I would assume season 2 would be up there just before season 3 starts.
