Mephisto as the villain?

I think he could be the big bad of Defenders but if so they won't be able to take him on alone.
I keep hearing rumors that Doctor Strange will show up somewhere in the series as a surprise guest and that this would help set up the next wave of heroes like Blade and Ghost Rider.
In time we will know for sure.
My concern is that the appral of this set of heroes is that they are street level, for the most part. Bringing in Mephisto seems like it will really shift to too much like the Avengers.

If he is the villain, I expect the Defenders to be fighting his minions and possibly Blackheart as opposed to just punching him in the face.
Oddly enough, there was a storyarc in the comics where Mephisto transported Hell's Kitchen to his realm.
That would make total sense as to how they meet him in final battle, could also explain the rumors of Doctor Strange showing up there to help.
Also it would be a good way to introduce both Blackheart and Ghost Rider at the very end to help set up future tv shows and movies too!
Howz about if out of nowhere Eric Brooks shows up and helps them kick some tail. That'd be epic!

Speaking of Ghost Rider, I'm not sure if he could work as a Netflix character. They have a limited budget and Ghostie needs a lot of special effects to look good onscreen.
