shareThat's how he has done his cameos in all the Netflix shows. Honestly, as dark and gritty as the shows are, it would be hard to see a goofy Stan Lee cameo. It works for the movies or AoS, but showing up in a show that features rape and gore is a little off-putting.
shareI never expected his cameos in the Netflix series to be anything anymore than pictures of him, so I can't say it's been disappointing not seeing the real him.
That being said, while a more traditional Stan Lee cameo would feel out of place in these shows (the way they've worked him in still elicits a chuckle from me), I think it would be interesting and poignant if he made an appearance at least in Daredevil (I figure it would be the most appropriate) in a more serious manner. But hey, since there's some lighter moments in Daredevil, I could see Lee being his regular self in a scene.
By the way, the video Netflix released with clips of each of the Defenders' being shown while Lee is seen providing a narration is good enough for me.
