Where did Henry get his money?

Henry had a 'contract' for 6 months until Marie succcumbed to her condition.
Marie defied all the odds and lived on for years.
Henry went above and beyond his duties, continuing to care for both Marie and Charlie throughout this period.
Charlie found out Henry paid for everything.
Where did Henry get the money?

At the onset Henry stated to Marie that his 6 month role would bankrole him through the rest of his life, which surely was not the case.
Any thoughts?

The contract was not for 6 months, it was till the death of the mother which was estimated 6 months by doctors. Mr. Church had an allowance for the rest of his life, that is where the money came from.

I thought the contract was for 6 months, Mr. Church was paid for the rest of his life. That was his money used after 6 months. He felt an obligation because he promised to be there for the mom until her death. Completely his money,empathy and love for the daughter after moms death. They were a beautiful family!

I was thinking the same thing. Guess his previous employer left him a bit if money...I mean he had a house, nice clothes, etc. Money was not an issue for him. The college money, must have been his...There is no way coupons could save that much in 10 years...lol.
