Are black slavers adressed in this movie?

I did not see it...but I doubt that :D

reply

They needed to address the introduction of soul food into the diets of the enslaved blacks.

"Are black slavers adressed in this movie?"

That would run contrary to victimology.

reply

God I´ m actually surprised by reactions here! :D
And ur right indeed

As Black lives matter says...."Facts are racist!"

reply

The movie is meant to portray an actual historical event, not slavery in a general way. If Turner's owner, and the owners of the other men in his rebel group, were all white, like the vast majority of slave owners, they would of course be shown that way.

If you have an axe to grind in that regard, a fictional movie might give you more satisfaction.

reply

So the answer is no I guess...
Or you think African slavers are myth? :D

reply

Oh man. Trump Trolls. Gotta be the worst kind.

reply

movie set in 1831-32, international slave trade was abolished in US in 1808

reply

That is correct...
But the narrative of the left ignores the historic presence of black slavers
It has to be white man who is evil...just saying

reply

well thats like complaining that movie about vietnam war didnt mention hitler and stalin

reply

um...not exactly...my point is THIS thing is never mentioned...
If it is it´s offensive or hate-speech...
that´s all

was nat turner the slave of a black person at any point in his life?

were there black slave owners that lived near the property that he lived on?

that would be the proper way to address the question. merely throwing in a black slave owner just to satisfy your need to alleviate white guilt is just as silly as fabricating the rape scene that never really happened.

reply

Nope...
But who sold those people to Europeans?
Do they get a pass because they´re black?
Gimme a break!
I am tired of every single opposing opinion being turned around to look racist

reply

But who sold those people to Europeans?

the movie takes place in north america, not europe.

in the time that this all happened, buying captive people from africa was outlawed. it would be historically inaccurate to show what you're asking about.

you're the only one in the whole thread who said anything about racism. maybe you feel guilty. no one accused you.

"Please disabuse yourself of the notion that my purpose on earth is to tuck ignorance in at night."

reply

You mean the free Blacks who often bought slaves in order to keep families together?

reply

Nope I meant those slavers who sold their people into slavery to Europeans who exported them into the New World as a work force darling.
You know people can be very cruel...

reply

already answered, they weren't around any more in 1831,

reply

You are correct, all two of them were ignored. Only whites were slaves, not blacks, at least that's what some wimp in a truck raised about 10 feet above his tires told me.
