I keep seeing people say "we need to support the brothers" but Tyler is a brother too so why kick him into the ground for his efforts? Or Kevin Hart? How is Nate Parker more of a brother than these two? He sold his project to Fox for fast cash which many believe was a mistake. Some of his investors, etc.. were not black, and his wife of course is not black so does writing about Nat Turner make his black card superior?
What Tyler and Kevin do is they know people like to laugh, so they hit that hard, make their money, then invest in other projects like Good Deeds, For Colored Girls... It may not be Langston Hughes or James Baldwin, but it works for them.
