Actually I have heard of Nat Turner before. However, I doubt that most Americans, regardless of color, have heard of him. Most Americans don't seem to learn from history.

I've known about Nat Turner for decades but -no doubt- a lot of people in this dumbed-down culture have never heard of him. This movie will make them curious to know more. And they will be quite surprised to find out that he murdered over 40 women and children - something not shown in the movie. People don't like being deceived and manipulated.
His name came up in grade school once. Even back then as he's known now he was just some irate slave void of cognitive thought that decided to kill innocent people and children rather than strictly just those who owned slaves, cause what better way to hurt your cause historically? Eventually is found by a farmer, tried and hanged. Overall his actions got many slaves killed and got several states to pass new laws for not only owned slaves but freemen as well further restricting their lives, even got one freeman killed by association. Lol good job.
