This is not a movie for you ...it was a movie for US and is much deeper than your feeble mind can understand and comprehend.
BoaN wil be the BIRTH of a lot of Slave Rebellion/Revolt movies that are on the way that you are not privy to.
Whatever barometer you measured this movie by means nothing to the people that the movie was made for.

Uh, regardless of what the racist guy said (sorry.) this movie is...in fact a flop. The studio paid 17.5 million for it, so Nate Parker got his money, just like he got his victim, and now he is leaving the studio with a loss lol...it made 12.3 million dollars in 2 weeks and will finish with about 15 or 16 million, not even making back the 17.5 million they paid for it. On top of that he has been arrogant and ignorant of his past transgressions, not even willing to admit ANY guilt or even ACKNOWLEDGING his victim in multiple TV appearances, thus not doing what the studio told him to do...and making him look like the disgusting egotistical person he is.
So...he raped a woman and got away with it, then made this movie and got a studio to give him 17.5 million dollars for a movie which bombed and only made 12 million and is going to lose them million of dollars to put in theaters. That is why no one is hiring the guy in Hollywood now and his directing career is over until then. (They also spent probably 10 million on advertising for 25-27 million in cost so...they will probably lose over 10 million dollars on this over-rated rapists garbage.)
Not only that but unbiased reviews have also come in, saying it isn't even a good movie, is bland in its directing, and is not historically accurate for a movie that hinges on its historical accuracy. Total fail and this guys career is now over as a director. Raped a girl and ruined her life, and now ruined a studios Awards ideas and lost them millions of dollars due to his disgusting arrogance.
