and that's partially true, but mostly it's because the viewing public doesn't have the appetite for this kind of movie anymore. People are fed up with all the race activism of late. It's why Quentin Tarantino's "Hateful Eight" tanked at the box office. It's why NFL ratings are down after Colin Kaepernick started protesting during the national anthem.

Hateful Eight might have "flopped" in the box office
but
that was a HOLIDAY MOVIE that was out a full week b4 release
AND A DAMN GOOD MOVIE AT THAT....I could watch that movie 100 times and still get a kick out of it!
as a matter of fact I own that movie.
It tanked because an exceptionally good bootleg was on the net on XMAS eve (a full week or two b4 it was released) along with the another movie
oh yeah the Revenant I think.
So again these arguments about how much money a movie makes means jack sh!t especially in 2016!
Rather or not a movie is good or not can not be reflected by ticket sales anymore.
You have no idea how many people have seen this movie w/o going to the theaters. Thats the reality of the situation.
Me myself, I saw the movie in the theater because I wanted to support the brotha and his effort.
But dont underestimate or think for one min. that this movie is not being viewed in the comfort of peoples homes.
