Will Moonlight overshadow this

I think all the awards attention will be going to Barry Jenkins than Parker this award season.

TBoaN metascore is 68, Moonlight is 99! That's mostly festival reviewers. It also premiered in big Gay Cities to get better reviews.

It already has

it will because the movie makes white supremacists comfortable to see a black man that is non threatening to white genetics

i've got feelings too, ya know - inbetweeners

Moonlight is a BETTER FILM that Birth of A Nation. And Nate Parker is a homophobe so I am glad Moonlight is getting the critical and box office success.

Isn't karma wonderful? A black man in a dress also made tons of money. So Parker has neither the acclaim or the money. And he deserves neither.

Well, "Moonlight" is a much better movie, and for better or worse, Nate Parker's past criminal rape trial has cast a huge shadow over "Birth" that is likely to turn off mainstream awards bodies. Which in a way isn't fair to the movie itself...but frankly I think "Birth" has other things to answer for, like how much it distorts and excludes from what is known historically about Nat Turner. It's a really simplistic telling of a very complicated real-life story.

Yep. Big time. Aside from that, Fences and Hidden Figures will surge past it too.

The "Us Black People Can Make Movies Too Awards"?

Or like, the ones that matter, such as the Oscars?
